Using the Stocks API requires agreement to the terms of license.
- Visual Studio 10 Users: If you are using Visual Studio 10, you will need to change your projects' "Target Framework"
to a standard framework. By default VS10 creates "Client Profile" target frameworks.
The Stocks API requires the full framework. Therefore you will not see
Desisoft.StocksAPI in the Add Reference (.NET) dialog box in newly created
VS10 projects, until this default Target Framework has been changed from "... Client Profile"
to either .NET Framework 3.5 or .NET Framework 4.0.
- The evaluation version is restricted to 4 symbols: AAPL, GOOG, MSFT and X.
Otherwise, the evaluation version is identical to the purchased version.
Please note that the data sources includes brokers as well, and orders can be placed with
them using this API. Any orders placed using the evaluation version will be live, real orders subject to execution.
So if any order-placement is to be tested, Desiderata recommends that any experimentation
be done on weekends, and that any orders be immediately removed manually after they
have been placed via the software.
Documentation: Documentation is included in the download, and may also be viewed at http://www.stocksapi.com/dox/index.html.
